Season of Love with CARA

Written by Mica Tolentino

Love was in the air this February, especially for our furry friends!

While the world exchanged gifts and bouquets, our dedicated CARA volunteers were busy spreading love in their own special way. Here’s how CARA made an impact throughout the month of February:

🐈 CNVR efforts

CARA continued its Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (CNVR) efforts to care for and manage the stray population across various areas. Ongoing CNVR agreements include:

  • Major Areas in NCR: Newport Blvd, Manila American Cemetery, Circuit Makati Estate, Brgy. Wack-Wack, Brgy. Bel-Air
  • Residential Communities: Dasmariñas Village, Magallanes Village, Lexington Village, Pacific Malayan, San Lorenzo Village
  • Condominium & Estates: Solstice Tower Condominium, Brio Tower Condominium, Tivoli Garden, Trion Tower, Vierra Residence, Tivoli Garden, Pacific Malayan
  • Community Cat Colonies: Cats of Ortigas, Cats of McKinley, Cats of BGC, Cats of California Garden Square

In January alone, 221 Cats (Puspins) and 16 Dogs (Aspins) were successfully neutered and vaccinated!

🏡 Adopted into forever homes

Love isn’t just in grand gestures—it’s in the warmth of a forever home.

Kermit patiently waited for his perfect match, and on February 17, he finally found the one! Thank you to Joe-Philip Ollos for choosing adoption and giving Kermit the love and care he deserves.

Milo, a handsome Siamese cat, had a rough journey before finding his forever home. He initially escaped from his adopter and stayed in a park for days before CARA rescued him and provided shelter, neutering, and a 4-in-1 vaccine with the help of generous donors. Since February 27, he has been settling into his new home with adopter Ruela Daug!

📢 Community engagements

Our volunteers continued to team up with organizations to further CARA’s mission!

On February 4, CARA met with Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS). Represented by Engr. Roselle Agustin and Atty. Camille Borja, they discussed humane and effective approaches to community animal management with Roa Taniegra and Eleanor Agulto of CARA.

A CARA delegation, led by our Founder and President Nancy Cu Unjieng, took part in DMCI’s Cat-vention last February 14! Volunteers and PMOs gathered to improve community cat welfare and develop collaborative strategies in promoting a harmonious coexistence between DMCI residents and stray cats.

Our advocacy extends to educational institutions as well! CARA conducted a Responsible Pet Ownership Talk at De La Salle Greenhills on February 26 with Miss Irianne, a professor at FEU. She shared valuable insights that inspired students to practice compassionate and responsible animal care!

Our community helps us continue to care for and protect our animal friends. A big thank you as well to our generous donors: Nadia Ripoll & Helena Robillo (February 23) and Kimchi’s Army Fan Club (February 8)!

🐶 Paw-some moments

Cupid was booked and busy at CARA this February, spreading love to our furry friends with back-to-back events!

Cupid paid a visit to our beloved cats during the Love at Purrst Sight event last February 15! Cat lovers spent some quality time with our kitties at the CARA facility in Mandaluyong.

At our Pawfect Match event last February 16 and 23, our adorable Aspins at CARA Home in Sta. Rosa, Laguna enjoyed a tail-wagging day of play under the sun. During this adoption and fundraising event, visitors bonded with our rescues and joined a special dog walk along Nuvali Park.

Thank you to everyone who made these days full of love and hope — bringing our cats and dogs one step closer to finding their pawfect match!

✨ Looking ahead
