Pet Ownership Symposium at Mapua University

On May 22, 2024, CARA Volunteers Ellaine, Rosana, and Noa held a workshop on Responsible Pet Care and Understanding Pet Behavior at Mapua University in Intramuros. This event was part of the university’s Advocacy Week, organized by the student council.

The workshop, titled “Tail of the Tales: An Interactive Symposium on Pet Ownership,” had 21 students attending in person and was also streamed online for other Mapua students. After the talk, the speakers received many questions about pet behaviors in the Philippine climate, common myths about spaying and neutering, and how to get involved in volunteering.

By teaching about the ethical treatment of animals and the importance of empathy and compassion, humane education aims to prevent future instances of animal cruelty and abuse.
