Papi has found a loving forever home!! The look on his face speaks for itself.
Papi was rescued in Pasig area. Though he was an owned dog, his owners did not have funds to bring him to the vet for treatment. They say his head wound was due to a Jeepney hitting him on the head while he was asleep on the sidewalk, but the vets think he may have been hacked with a knife.
I am constantly astounded by the way humans can be so cruel to innocent animals. I am an avid animal lover and I wish I could contribute more to educating Filipinos about caring for cats and dogs.
Having grown up in a small town outside of Manila, I’ve seen how mistreated stray cats and dogs are. I think the key is education and changing people’s attitudes towards these animals, they are not pests. It’s not okay to sell dogs for dog meat or throw boiling water on a cat, they are helpless creatures who rely on us.
I worry about the plight of these animals but I’m comforted there are organisations such as yours to help. Thank you for what you do.
