13 year-old boy donates his savings for animals

CARA's youngest donor is an inspiration to us all

Inaki Rivera, CARA’s youngest donor, along with Carina Go and Vera Lim, CARA’s TNR head.

People like Iñaki Go Rivera are one in a million. This very generous boy of age thirteen worked all his summer vacation to save up so he could have money to donate–what’s more, he flew with his family from Mindanao just to be able to visit CARA !

Handing his donation personally to CARA officer, Ms. Vera, Iñaki allocated a portion his savings for CARA’s Trap-Neuter-Return Program (Charity Kapon), with the remaining for cat and dog food funds.

Early in 2014, Iñaki actually asked his auntie to borrow from CARA’s office here at Manila two donation boxes to put in his family’s shop. These boxes filled and were returned just last Saturday (Oct 25, 2014) along with his savings and an additional amount for a dog sponsorship.

Iñaki particularly chose Mersho for the sponsorship, because of the dog’s condition. According to the vet of Pet Project, Dr. Riza Zunio, Mersho is still under intensive care after having three surgeries (the latest, being the most successful one).

The kindness of this young man was really inspiring to all of CARA. It was reassuring to know that despite what’s happening to the animal welfare in our country, there are still those who cared to go on these lengths to help out in whatever way they can. It was very admirable, simply put, he is the future of animal welfare in the Philippines.
