Canine and feline lovers gathered once again to enjoy a feast of great food and good fellowship at the annual Yum Cha event organized by CARA Welfare Phils. in partnership with Hyatt Hotel & Casino.
The event, held last June 29 at Li Li Chinese Restaurant in Hyatt Hotel, was graced by people who support CARA’s cause of helping the plight of Manila’s street animals. The luncheon featured a dim sum of sorts and a delightful dessert buffet.
While everyone was enjoying their food, CARA Vice President Tanya Guerrero gave her warm welcome remarks to honor the presence of guests and members alike.
Slideshows of the LPB center and CARA rescues were also presented to show how far the organization has come since its inception in 2000. This was followed by the presentation of items to be sold at the silent auction.
After the bidding of items, which closed at 2:30 PM, the winners of the auction were announced. They are as follows:

This year’s Yum Cha event was indeed a successful one, as it generated a good sum of money from the ticket sales and the silent auction. All proceeds of the event will help CARA in its mission of alleviating the current condition of its rescued cats and dogs.
