CARA Welfare Philippines in partnership with the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila organized a dim sum feast fundraiser last April 14, 2012. This event was held in the hotel’s very own LiLi Restaurant.
Various media representatives such as Eunice Cruz (Clickthecity.com), Glen Duego (GMA-DZBB), JP Soriano (GMA-7), Alicia Herrera (Business World), Judith Junilla (High Life) and Charlene Bobis (Manila Bulletin) were present to help CARA in their mission to spread the word and raise animal welfare awareness.
The day started off with a talk about CARA’s mission given by Nancy Cu Unjieng (CARA President) which summarized what CARA’s mission. Guests were made aware of the current situation of the animals in the Philippines and the various ways in which they can help. Afterwards, a silent auction was held, all attendees were eager to place their bids on items dontated by CARA supporters – such as a dinner buffet, weekend hotel getaway, furniture, gift certificates, mobile phones, spa treatments and more.
The Yum Cha Fundraiser was a huge success with all seats sold out. Donations received and proceeds from this event will be contributed to the ongoing cost of CARA’s spay/neuter program at the CARA clinic and the mobilization of the educational curriculum in local schools and barangays.
