Everyone was all smiling at Aniwoof, a charity dog show for the benefit of CARA Welfare Philippines, held at the San Beda College Football Field last Friday, March 2. The program, organized by a class of BA Information Studies majors, featured many dog contests and even a doggy fashion show!
These pups chowed down to see who will make it as Chow Master!
Despite the hot sun, everyone was game. Games included Dog Bring-Me’s, Dogfood Eating contests, and Relay races. The winners received dog food and other goodies.
CARA volunteer Gem Faisan gave a talk discussing responsible pet ownership, trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs to humanely manage the stray population, and what CARA does as an animal welfare organization. She emphasized the need to be compassionate both to our pets and to street animals. She also talked about the cats of BGC and how the situation should have been treated.

At the doggy fashion show, both hoomans and doggos raised the bar for creative costumes, which ranged from full-length gowns to Superhero costumes.
The fashion show was a center of creativity!
The audience braved the heat to witness the different talents and fashionable looks of these furbabies.

We would like to thank the organizers for inviting CARA to be a part of this amazing dog event and for encouraging everyone to become responsible pet parents.
At the end of the day, everyone was a winner!
